One of NIC Local’s clients in the Northeast, West Rainton Surgery has been rated Outstanding by the CQC following an inspection in October 2025, with the result confirmed this week.
The Practice Manager, Samantha McErlane, specifically thanked the NIC Local team for the support provided during the inspection period, with a special mention for Clare Horner of NIC Local. Her commitment to keeping the practice at an exceptional standard made a real difference.
Clare genuinely loves her job. She’s reliable, takes real pride in what she does, and shows up every day with the same high standards. She’s one of the best people we have, and we’ve arranged a small thank you gift to recognise her hard work.
Across the region, NIC Local currently support 15 GP and doctors’ surgeries, alongside highly regulated environments such as Accord Healthcare, one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Northeast. In settings like these, standards, compliance, and consistency are always front and centre.
For this inspection, our focus was simple and effective:
- Strong daily routines and visible standards throughout the practice
- Extra attention on high-touch points and washrooms
- Clear records, COSHH compliance, and proactive communication with the Practice Manager
Matt Sammons, Regional Director, NIC Local added: “This Outstanding rating is a real credit to the team and especially to Clare. She takes huge pride in her work and understands how important her role is in a clinical environment. Consistency, attention to detail, and doing the basics properly every single day are what make the difference during inspections. Clare lives those standards, and we’re very proud of her and the support we provide to practices across the region.”
